How to control which photos appear on your event’s Live Wall

The MyEventQR Live Wall projects guests’ photos on a television or a projector. It does not publish on its own: the switch, the gallery and, if you want one, a PIN are in your dashboard. This guide describes those controls, the ones you see while organising the event.
What the screen shows
Photos only, and a smaller preview, not the original file. Videos, voice messages and the guestbook do not appear on that screen. If the wall is off, nothing is projected even if people keep uploading to the album. At the start it is normal for the screen to be empty: it fills as the first photos arrive.
Anyone who opens the live link sees what is being projected, not the full gallery. You see that gallery. The spectator link is view only: nothing is uploaded from it.
Turning the live screen on and off
On the event, the control is called Live Projector Mode. If you turn it on, photos can appear on the screen. If you turn it off, they stop being projected. The album is not deleted by switching the screen off: the photos stay in the gallery and can be downloaded. Demo Mode includes Live Wall, with that trial’s cap of 20 photos.
Hide a photo without deleting it
In the gallery, on a photo, is “Hide from Live Wall”. You can also open the photo and use the same button. The photo stays in the album, can be downloaded and is marked as hidden from Live Wall. “Show on Live Wall” puts it back on the screen.
A screen that is already open stops showing it as soon as the change arrives. The live page also checks again on its own every 12 seconds, so a weak connection still drops the photo on that pass. You do not have to reload by hand.
Hiding is not the same as deleting
Delete, from the gallery, removes the photo from the event. It cannot stay on the screen either, because the file is gone. Use it when you do not want to keep that photo. Hide is the gesture that takes it off the live screen only and leaves it in the album.
The 4-digit PIN
The PIN is optional. If you save one, anyone who opens the Live Wall link has to type it. That link stays view only. The same PIN is required to upload when the event is protected: write it on the QR card, large and readable, if you want guests to be able to send photos.
You can generate it or type it and save it. A PIN that is too easy, for example 0000 or 1234, is not accepted. The code is shown on that screen once: copy it before you leave. If the link will travel outside the guest group, the PIN stops anyone with the address from watching the live screen or uploading.
Who watches the gallery during the event
MyEventQR does not pick the photos for you. It is worth having someone with access to the dashboard watch the gallery from a phone while the screen is on and hide anything that should not be seen. At a dinner that fits between courses. In a large room, that person should not also be the one presenting.
The MyEventQR team does not open the photos. Before uploading, the guest sees a retention notice: the content lasts for the event and for 14 days after it expires, and is then deleted. The text links to the privacy policy.
To set the screen up at a dinner, continue with photos on the screen. For a large room, see Live Wall for concerts. The QR trial is in creating the event in 20 seconds.
Questions
Can I take a photo off the screen and still keep it?
Yes. “Hide from Live Wall” leaves it in the gallery and it can still be downloaded. “Show on Live Wall” puts it back on the live screen.
Do videos appear on the Live Wall?
No. The screen shows photos. Videos, audio and guestbook entries stay in the dashboard, not on the projector.
Does the PIN block uploads and viewing?
If you save one, it is required to view the live link and to upload when the event is protected. The live link itself is view only.
Do I have to reload the screen to hide a photo?
No. An open screen receives the change, and it also checks again on its own every 12 seconds.
